Welcome to Hill Days: a new website focusing on outdoor adventures in the UK

About Me and Hill Days

I’m Ina – the writer behind Hill Days – and I am a rock-climber, runner and wild swimmer. I camp, hike, cycle, paddle and swim. If you can do something outdoors – it’s likely that I’ve at least given it a go over the years. I grew up running barefoot in the forests of Finland. Swimming in the crystal-clear lakes all through the summer and playing in the snow and ice in winter. For as long as I remember, I have been in love with nature. And when I moved to the UK, I fell in love all over again; this time with the mountains and the sea. I’d like to welcome you to share my love for the outdoors through my new website and outdoor blog – the Hill Days!

I spent years living in Scotland and exploring its most remote mountains and glens. And I learned to rock-climb to access the most unlikely places imaginable. I found the picturesque little towns of the Lake District nestled into the lovely rolling fells. And I made it to the rugged ridges of Snowdonia. Right now, I live in a little stone cottage on the edge of the Peak District with my amazing partner. Here I have temporarily swapped munros for moors and mountain crags for gritstone edges. I have learned to find my peace and quiet in the less explored corners of this busy landscape. Because, as always, I am happy whenever I am outside.

More Than Just an Outdoor Blog

In Hill Days I share my personal adventures, advice and experiences. Being in the nature is hugely beneficial for our physical and mental wellbeing, and I hope that I can inspire your journey to outdoor discovery. I have been a hillwalker and a mountaineer for a long time. Now I want to share some of the things I have learned and the amazing places I have explored over the years. I am always learning new things and exploring new places. My current project is to become a qualified Mountain Leader and I will share glimpses of my journey preparing for assessment in the coming months. I hope to create not only an outdoor blog, but a community, for all outdoor lovers to share their personal hill days.
